Travestees started life as a parody T-shirt company before seguing into a comedy club in June 2002 because the founder wanted to bring Milton Jones to town. After the show, many people asked when ‘the next one’ was, so another, with Tim Vine headlining, was organised for the following September.

Since then it has run once a month through the autumn, winter and spring months and has become a favourite of many national and international comics. Over the years we’ve seen acts such as Andy Parsons, Russell Howard, Russell Kane, Rhys Darby, Simon Evans, Bob Mills etc, many of whom have returned on more than one occasion.

The club continues to go from strength to strength and boasts a die-hard regular, appreciative crowd, who are there for the comedy and not for a party.
