Sunil is a calm, ultra-downbeat stand-up with an aloof, outsider perspective who is able to find laughs in the bleakest of topics. A deviously sharp writer, Sunil’s nihilistic gags have seen him become a finalist in the 2012 BBC Radio 2 New Comedy Award, the 2013 Laughing Horse New Act of the Year, and the 2011 Leicester Square Comedian Of The Year. He also won the 2012 Piccadilly Comedy Club New Act and was Chortle’s Best Newcomer in 2013. Some of you may recognise Sunil from the Channel5 comedy Borderline.
“Sunil Patel oozes funny like a jammy doughnut running down a diner’s chin. Sometimes looking at his expressionless facade, I wonder whether he even realises how funny he is” – Broadway Baby, Edinburgh 2016

After a few months off, gleefully prancing around Poundland, Wetherspoon’s and Wilko’s (Google it), the delightful Troy Hawke is back as MC. Homeschooled by an overly nostalgic mother, Troy confronts the 21st century as if waking from a 1930′s time capsule with insightful and hilarious consequences. Alongside TV appearances on Blue Go Mad in Ibiza (ITV2), Live at the Electric (BBC Three) and Benidorm (ITV1), Milo McCabe (Troy’s creator) is an established character comedian with several successful Edinburgh runs under his belt, twice nominated for Best Show at The Amused Moose Laughter awards and listed as one of GQ magazine’s Top 10 shows of the Fringe.
